Brake Upgrades

I think this may well be known but if not then it could help save someone money. A cheap upgrade to series 1 brakes are Volvo 244 front calipers with a reduced diameter disc, about 6 mm from memory. There are 2 options on the caliper, either cross drill internally and blank off 1 of the dual circuit feeds or fit with 2 feed pipes.

For series 2 brakes I had made uprated stub axles which allowed the use of 4 pot XJ calipers and ventilated discs, see www.etypepat.f-snet.com and look at the series 2 2+2 page.

It is not possible to fit my E type S1 1/2 2+2 with 4 pot XJ calipers ?

Hi Franck

I think you should be able to fit 4 pot calipers to your E-Type. Why not give Ken Jenkins a call and he'll talk you through it? He might even be able to supply the necessary parts you will need because he has a large stock pile of used Jaguar parts.
