1969 Series 2 E Type

How can I check that I have an adequate vacuum in my brake system? A recent brake test was not great and the tester suggested that the vacuum at the servo was not very strong. Having removed several hoses the vacuum seemed that same sort of strength even at the manifold. Having turned off the engine and removed a hose after a few minutes there was still a vacuum in the hoses. The rear brakes, master cylinder and servo are all new. What can I try next?

Thanks very much, that was helpful and good information too.

Sorted now having traced all the hoses and found a leaking joint!

Next is to sort out a wobbly disc. How hard is it to replace the front discs?

Any special tools needed?

You should be okay with a standard toolkit. I'm sure there are some good step by step threads on here on disc changing if you search, just remember to remove the cap on the fluid reservoir before you try and compress the piston.
