2+2 handbrake cable installation

Postby tomcharvey101579 » Tue Sep 03, 2024 10:09 am

Hi. Has anybody got any tips or a sensible sequence for fitting a new handbrake cable? I've recently bught an abandoned '66 2+2 project. It has the calipers set up on the back diff. assembly. And a cable disappearing up the prop shaft tunnel - but which doesn't reach the light of day at the handbrake lever end. Is this probably no more complicated than the wrong (too short) cable having been attached to the back, but my predecessor has probably given up when he couldn't work out the other end? Any guidance or poiters would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this far!

I agree. The first thing i would do is buy a cable C30221 and see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks Roger. now to work out how to install the beastly thing. Looks like I shall have to remove the prop shaft to get in there. Deep joy....
