Gearbox Oil

I need to top-up my gearbox oil. The Haynes manual lists: "Castrol Hypoy". I have approached my car spares shop for this oil (or equivalent) but they cannot help! Is the oil simply a basic SA90 gear oil?

My car: S1 4.2.

Neil,

I would drain the box and use Redline MTL, it is a far superior gearbox oil to anything else around and as such is expensive but you will notice the difference when it comes to gear changes.
Do a google search for Redline MTL. There is a racing shop in Tamworth which is where I got mine.
