Laycock Compact A Type Overdrive

Hi All
I am in the process of dismantling an A type compact overdrive which I hope to fit to my 2 + 2.
The last piece to be removed is the oil pump. I have removed the plug and locating screw but I cannot get the bottom of the non return valve to move. This nrv I assume comes out first before the pump piston can be removed.
Does anybody know the correct dismantling procedure?
I have looked on line and there is plenty of information about Laycock overdrives but they are for different types to mine which I think came from an XJ6 or 420.
Also does anybody have a spare gear lever with the switch on the top?
Any help would be most welcome.
Many thanks Peter

I have never worked on my overdrive but the Mk2 manual has full details on what to do on the type 'a' overdrive. It seems to suggest that after removing the locating screw ( then the pump is removed using a Churchill extraction tool .o L.183A and an adapter l.183A-2. It then says that the plunger and spring also comes out when the body is withdrawn. These details are on page F.-s.15 onwards.
This may help.

Hi Paul
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
I have not got access to the manual and if I cannot get the pages copied I shall take it to an overdrive transmission firm who will have the tools.
Many thanks
Peter
