Hi there,
After a year of reliable running from my fully restored 4.2 litre 1967 E type, it has let me down twice this year at the side of the road. Both times it went completely dead and I was stranded for 20 minutes before it was suddenly able to spring back into life. Initial views suggested the fuel pump points, but it is a new electronic fuel pump and seems to work fine. The problem feels more electrical but the coil and distributor all look fine. There was a blockage in the fuel cap vent which was causing some vacuum build up in the tank, but the engine cut-out was much cleaner that I feel would have come from fuel starvation.
Any ideas where to look next?
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Mark
