correct spark plugs ?

can anybody tell me the correct type of spark plug i should be using for my 1967 S1 4.2. (9-1 ratio)
currently fitted are- NGK BP6ES
however i read in septembers JEC mag that NGK BP5ES is correct.

looking in my e type "operating, maintenance and service handbook"
plug type is defined as champion N 11 Y.

i ordered a set from SNG barret for my model/year and they sent me champion N5C

any advice welcome!

For my 1966 series 1 4.2 Ken Jenkins recomended BP5ES

I have only ever used NGK BP5ES in my 3.8 never had a problem.

I'm running on BP5E in my 1965 4.2 (9:1).

The NGK website gives BP5E as the recommended product, and BP5ES as the alternative.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two ?

how come most seem to be running on NGK, are they a better plug?

I belive that the "S" stands for
super copper core centre electrode

Bin the Chamion N11Y and NGK BP5E"S" ("S" stands for suppressed).Try NGK IRIDIUM BPR5E1X (for the 4.2). I fitted them 15 months ago and give instant starting,more power,improved fuel consumption,smoth running and no sooting. I purchased my 6 from ACE PARTS. Brilliant.!!

Currently got NGK BP6ES in my 3.8 and when i bought them
Rob Beere said i could use NGK BP7ES which are apparently
harder if i wanted. Will most probably put 7's in next
