Timing chain and tensioner replacement

Any recommendations for a company in the west midlands area to swop timing chain and tensioner on a E type series 3.

I'm sure there will be a few to chose from, but one place that comes tro mind is: CBR Classic Restorations - https://cbrclassicrestorations.co.uk/ . Andy is the guy to talk to.
I've not used them myself, but do know of a club member who has and was very pleased. There's plenty more choice if you include East Midlands in your preferred area.

I am still investigating the replacement of the timing chain and tensioner on my V12 E type and am considering doing it myself. The 'book' way is to remove heads then timing chain cover, but I have read that it can be done by leaving the heads in place and removing the six bolts that are through the heads into the chain cover by removing the complete stud by 'double nutting'. This all makes sense to me, but my question is, has anyone actually done this or is it just a theory?

Sorry to see you have not received any responses. I guess that means no one on here has done this. It does make sense and I believe is possible. I discussed this with a local member today - who has a V12 and he reminded me of a YouTube video - one that I had seen, but forgotten. If you look a little after 5 mins, this guy has clearly removed the cover with the heads still in place.

To get the studs out, try welding a nut to them and then either replace or 'clean up' afterwards.

Many thanks for your reply and the very useful video. As you say it does show the heads still on. It shows them again at about 12 min. Very encouraging. My plan is to have a go and if I can not get the studs out, well the heads will just have to come off.
