Oily mist in disy cap

I have an S3 V12 suffering from oil mist condensing in the distributor cap with obviously poor running. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a solution?

In truth not got a clue around V12. But would comment that maybe a blocked crankcase vent or faulty pcv wouldn't help the situation as would cause a build up of presure in the crankcase.
