Hello,
I joined a short while ago and have been enjoying the forum. Probably fairly typically of the E type owner, I am in my fifties and, largely relieved of pressures such as children and mortgage, I am now embarked on other ways of staying insolvent.
I had a Jaguar XJS in my twenties which was fun but reliably unreliable. Learning my lesson, I chopped it in for an Alfa... After thirty-odd years of sensible and not so sensible Swedish and German motors, I have come back to both marques, first by buying and refurbishing an S4 Spider, and then, evidencing an addiction to rust and dodgy electrics, not to mention financial ruin, I bought a couple of Jaguars.
I have a 1967 Series 1 2+2 (LHD) which I have just begun to restore. It appears to be in reasonably good condition but the imminent soda blast will tell.
I also run a 1995 XJR, largely on motorways.
I look forward to participating in this forum, continuing to learn from you all and meeting you at events.
Newbie from London

I'm assuming that yours is not a very early one. Mine was a complete snotter which, by 1986, had been run ragged and was not well maintained, but it was what I thought I could afford in the days before I learned that the purchase price of a car was least of my worries. However, I am now trying to work out how to snag an XJS again without provoking a divorce...

Welcome, Peter.
I hope you enjoy the restoration process. It can be extremely frustrating at times. Not to mention, expensive.
Regards

Very funny and too true for so many of us!
Best of luck for the restoration - from a relative Newbie who also comes from London.
