Assistance required.

Postby JustinS » Sat May 08, 2021 9:12 am

Hi All,
I am currently restoring a 1966 Series 1 4.2 E Type DHC that I did not dismantle, as I bought it in boxes. There is a lot of information on the internet, but it would be really handy if i could view a similar car for reference. I wonder if there is a club member local to me, with a similar vehicle, that would be kind enough to let me view their car.
I live in between Gravesend and Rochester in Kent, but can travel.
Thanks in advance.
Justin.

Hello Justin,
Sorry no one seems to be able to help with your request to view a car.
Would it be possible to find one for sale from a dealer or private seller and have a look at those cars.
I found this one for sale at Eagle E-Types,a fixed head one,but it is 1966,with a few photo's.

Or this one at E-Type UK which has a lot of photo's.1965 model though.

The adverts will go once the vehicle is sold so if you come across a photo you need to keep ,save it to your computer for future reference.
I'm sure there are other ads out there with more photo's.
Hope that helps a bit.
Good luck on your request anyway and with the restoration of course.
Enjoy and take care.

Justin, sorry for the late reply to your request for help. (I realise that you sent the request over a year ago). I am finishing off rebuilding a 1965 FHC and although I took it to bits and took many photographs it was not straight forward reassembling. I have chronicled some of my antics in the E Type Section of the JEC magazine.
The parts manual is very helpful.
However, I am happy to discuss or take photos of my car if that helps. (I am based in south Wales so may be too far to travel).

Please contact me through the E Type section etype@jecmodels.org.uk
