Hello All
I was pleased to see the value of my car increasing, until I went to the Classic Car show at the N.E.C. On 9/11/2017.
Unfortunately, the current values have put the E Type out of the reach of most enthusiasts, and the cost of spares for those lucky enough to own one, has sky rocketed.
In both instances this is most regrettable, and I have the distinct feeling that, certainly with reference to the current cost of spares , that we are being mightily conned.
Parts manufacturers and stockists cannot be incurring the increased costs they are charging for replacement parts.
I refer particularly to the major suppliers that advertise in this magazine, and appear to be simply "loading" the cost to a figure that they think we are daft enough to pay.
Perhaps the car should drop to a more realistic value.

Re: Cost of replacement parts
There is more than a grain of sense in that Richard.
In the early 70s, my first E type cost £500 (for perspective, that was C10 weeks typical pay); it was an attractive proposition because it was the biggest bang per £, as reliable as you like, and when it did need something, it was inexpensive.
For the 10% of an E type's current price (I can't use the word "value"), there are infinitely superior cars available.
Prices are far too high.
