Driving in France

Postby greensimonc » Tue Feb 09, 2016 5:32 pm

Hi all,

I'm taking my 2+2 to the Laon Historique in May and am compiling a list of things needed and to do.....one of which is what sort of headlamp deflectors I need. I don't suppose they let classics off this sort of thing?! So has anyone invented deflectors that stick onto the headlamp coverings (series1) or must I find something to go onto the headlamps themselves....and if so, a likely source?

Also, I've just noticed that the Cotswolds Festival is the following weekend! May is going to be busy.

Many thanks for any advice,

Cheers, Simon.

Simon,
I have found in the past that providing you at least attempt to have some form of beam deflector such as black tape over the lens cover then all will be well.
I shall be taking my Morgan to Laon, as the E is up for sale, and I have found a pair of the old Lucas yellow deflectors which, being round, fit very well on the Moggie.

Hi Reg,

Thanks for that....I asked Scenic Tours on their stand at the London Classic Car Show last week, and they said much the same, in fact had never heard of anyone being tugged by the Gendarmes! However, I'll at least employ a bit of insulating tape to show I've thought about it!

Really looking forward to the trip, just hope it's dry 'eh?!

Cheers, Simon.

Simon,
It's very rarely dry in a Morgan even with the hood up. I think I am growing webs between my toes.
Laon should be great as it is the 25th and they are putting on a lot of special things ( I'm led to believe )
