I am currently restoring a 1967/8 roadster, and before stripdown the paintwork was metallic burgundy.
As things have gone on, i have discovered the original willow green. Personally i hate the idea of re-finishing to that shade, but will this hurt the future value- if i dont.?
can someone tell me where i could get hold of some 1960's colour swatches to help decide on any colour change.
Please, sensible suggestions only.
whats in a colour ?
Personally I don't think it does matter what colour you do your car as long as its a period Jaguar colour.
My car was originally cream with a red interior but I finished mine in opalescent silver blue with dark blue interior which was available in 1961.
I think there is a colour chart on www.xkedata.com sorry I just checked and that part of the site is still under construction.
You can search the site for 1967/68 roadsters and there should be plenty easily enough to make an informed decision.
I think there may be a colour chart of jag-lovers if not I'll find out where there is one.

Stick with an E Type colour for your year, I don't think you will find a paint supplier who still has old colour chips, I bought some original colour brochures from Andrew Swift, his contact details are in the mag. Failing that once you have narrowed down your choice, ask the people who are spraying your car to spray a few colour swatches.
