E Type 1968 series 1.5 Wiper Motor 75658A

Hi I am looking for help and advice on a wiring query on my wiper motor 75658A. I understand this was only fitted for a short time and is different than other motors ie the motor works by switching the earth and not the live. I have found detailed descriptions and information but whilst I can get the wiper motor to work correctly on the bench, I can't get it to work in the car, ie I can't configure the wiring at switch to switch the earth as required.

Silly question, but as Jaguar changed in 1968 (I think) from Positive to Negative Earth, that's not the problem, is it?
