E-Types wanted for Jaguar 75 run

Postby key001g » Wed Jul 14, 2010 5:24 pm

To celebrate Jaguar's 75th Anniversary, Jaguar Cars Ltd. are organising a unique event, a run of 75 cars from Coventry to Goodwood and they have asked us to find certain models owned by Jaguar enthusiasts. Time is short as the event takes place on 17th & 18th September so I am contacting members via the Regions and the Forums to find the right cars.
Itinerary:-
Friday 17th September, start at Millennium Square Coventry and drive, via a lunch stop, to Kensington Gardens in London where the cars will be securely parked overnight. You will then be driven to the Mayfair Hotel (where Sir William Lyons launched the original SS Jaguar in 1935) for a Gala Dinner.
Saturday 18th September, you will drive to the Goodwood Revival meeting where you will have special parking, free entry to the event for the day, and hospitality. From there you will make your own way home.
You will receive a special rally plate and route book.
Costs: NONE – all you have to find is petrol ! Jaguar will pay for the dinner and hotel at this prestigious venue, entry into Goodwood and hospitality whilst there. They will even pay for an overnight hotel in Coventry before you leave if necessary.
Requirements:
Your E-Type Jaguar must be a Series 1 (1961 - 1968), Series 1.5 (1967 - 1969), Series 2 (1968 - 1970), or Series 3 V12 (1971 - 1975) and in excellent condition, 2 of each Series are required.
The offer is only open to one person, not partners, as you will be expected to take a UK or overseas journalist with you on the run.
If you are interested, as soon as possible please contact Graham Searle or James Blackwell at JEC in Bristol, telephone 0117 969 8186 or email graham.searle@jec.org.uk.
At this stage we cannot guarantee who will get the places as we don’t know how many will wish to take part but the sooner you reply the better chance you will have !

No flies on Jaguar eh? it would be cheaper to pay for the hotel and food than the fuel especially at the rate mine drinks premium grade unleaded :D
Wonder if the journalist is going to pay half on the fuel?
