Exhaust system parts

I have a problem re tail boxes on my x type 2.5 v6 , new ones have been fitted however they are very throaty it is a sound not liked by me .
Is there any body who has experience of this type of problem.

Are you sure they have been fitted properly, if standard exhaust parts should certainly not sound loud at all, would suspect a leak? Have you been back to the fitter?

Hi Nick,
I agree with Andy, if they have been fitted properly with no leaks then check you have you been supplied with standard boxes? I did hear a saloon at Bicester with an aftermarket exhaust fitted and it was significantly throatier, fine if that's what you wanted.
