CD changer fitting - is new boot trim needed?

I've had a CD changer fitted in the boot of my 2003 Sport saloon. But that means that the N/S boot trim no longer fits. Is it possible to cut the existing trim (and is there a template available) or must I buy a new trim section designed for a car fitted with a changer?

not sure about saloons, but I have done this job twice on an estate, you need the correct trim and the correct boot floor moulding (I in fact cut the old one to shape)

You may need to have the car on diagnostics to tell it that a CD changer is fitted, not sure on a 2003 car, but on my 2004 and 2005 cars I had to do just that procedure
