My 2003 V-6 X-type has just failed its MOT. The O/S headlight is pointing to the right (broken left/right adjuster apparently) and the garage is quoting £250 plus fitting and VAT for a new headlight assembly. Is there a cheaper/simpler fix, please? I've heard about plastic adjuster kits for up/down movement but do I need a different left/right adjuster kit and where can I obtain one? Grateful for any advice about sourcing parts and about how to fit them (e.g. bumper removal, grill removal, etc). Many thanks.
Re: Headlight adjusters
This may be too late as I have only just seen your post.
You can buy headlamp adjusters through ebay and fit them yourself. Alternatively there is a headlamp exchange service on there also. You do have to remove the front bumper to remove the headlight but it is quite an easy job.
The garage quote is way too expensive.

Many thanks - much appreciated. I sourced a £100 replacement from Auto Reserve Jaguar which was a rebuilt unit using metal adjusters rather than plastic ones. The cost of a Jaguar replacement - for a 13-year-old car was just far too much.
