The steering wheel airbag cover is showing a square indentation. Probably caused by pressure from the airbag over time. (53 Reg). The cover is raised slightly from the rest of the steering wheel. Is there a fix for this? Perhaps the cover removed and the airbag reset?
Has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers

Re: X-Type Steering Wheel
Probably quicker and cheaper Peter, to replace the air bag unit complete.
Try Eurojag who advertise in our magazine. The have a good reputation for second hand parts taken from insurance damaged cars at very reasonable prices.
If you go this route, I would suggest you have your old unit removed and replaced by a Jaguar specialist who will know the correct procedure for the job. Electrical disconnection whilst work is in progress is often the case.

Re: X-Type Steering Wheel
Hi Hawkeye
Iv'e removed the steering wheel on my S Type I presume the X Type is more or less the same.
You MUST remove live connection from the battery as the airbag works off an electrical impulse.
Jack the car up at the front (one corner will do ) so you can turn the steering wheel to get at the 4 Torque bolts on the back side of the wheel. Then just lift the Airbag unit away and disconnect the electrical connection. Make shure you re connect the battery last.
