airbag light 2007 2.0 diesel

The airbag light remains on while driving the car
On switching on the ignition I have checked the flashing sequence of the airbag light and it is giving 24
Does anyone know what this code means ?
I understand that 33 and 34 = seat belt pretension fault on driver and pass seats - but cannot find anything for 24

24 is "Inflatable curtain, drivers side-circuit malfunction".

Are you able to clarify the fault "wiring - inflatable curtain driver@s side" in any way ?
What is inflatable curtain ? Is the wiring for this in the drivers door ? or under the seat ?
Is there a common fix/remedy for this problem ?

Steve, your Co-ordinator is our X-type man and knows rather more than I do about these cars.

Typically, I believe the "curtain" is a high tech word for side impact airbag. Generally these units live in the outside bolster side of the seat back.

If you are going to attempt this job yourself, you will need to know how to deal with the airbag and the surrounding systems. Get it wrong and it could activate so be careful if there is a 12volt battery still connected. I`d suggest any in depth work needed might be well entrusted to someone with the appropriate training and equipment.

A bit of research needed here. Other members may be along shortly and be able to help further.

I can only agree with Mike -

I was brought up on Haynes Manual car maintenance and always battery disconnection was always "Step 1"

The Haynes statement that "Re-fitting is the reversal of the removal procedure" has, however, always raised an eyebrow...
