Headlamp Internals

Has anyone had an X Type headlamp apart, or is knowledgeable about the interior construction? Recently, while adjusting my headlamps for right-hand dip, I noticed the rear part of the reflector on one unit was lose and detached from the forward part of the reflector. How is it attached, and can this be reattached without taking the whole headlamp unit out? My headlamps are converntional projector/halogens, by the way. Any help would be much appreciated.
