Infotainment system does not recognise CD changer or phone..

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone may have an insight that will enable me to get my X-Type's CD changer and phone to work. I've Googled various search terms and checked many Jaguar forums, but can't find a definitive answer, or anybody with exactly the same issue as me.

The car is a 2004 2.0D Estate, and these items have never worked since I've owned the car. I spent some time today dismantling the stack of units in the boot to see if it was all connected correctly and it seemed to be - I reseated it anyway.

I should say that the car is left with the battery disconnected for long periods of time at the moment, as it's not in regular use, so discharging the whole electrical system makes no difference to the problem.

Hi Simon, I am sorry I cannot add anything of any use to help with your issue as your knowledge is already way above mine, except to say when I had problems with my 2006 SE it was resolved by Matthew at North Wales Jaguar and has been trouble free ever since. Matthew is very knowledgeable with these cars.
I can however raise the forum post to other members in the X-type section of the magazine but that will not be until the August magazine is printed.
