Hi I have an x type with a bank 1 sensor 2 error and after testing I have a bad ecm. 12v at one pin and 0v on the other 3. harness continuity checked ok. anyone know if you can just replace the ecm or do they have to be reprogrammed to the car. cheers clive

I don`t know if re-calibration will be required after fitting a new or pre-used ECU. Plug and play once you have a replacement will no doubt provide an immediate answer.

One thing is certain though. When you come to source a replacement, ensure it has EXACTLY the same part number and nothing else.

Try Eurojag or Autoreserve for good second hand gear. They may also be able to tell you if re-calibration is required.
