Starter Motor

Hi, having trouble starting mainly in the below zero weather, starter just screams for a while but eventually starts. have heard X Types have a starter motor problem, does anyone know if this is so, or maybe just needs a new starter.

Yes, you're right - the starter motor is, as I was informed when the one on my 2.0D played up, is indeed one of those parts on the "most likely to fail" list.

Replace it now, don't wait to break down at the most inappropriate time. For me it was at a fuel pump at the RAC took 5 hours to arrive....
