Hi, I have a 2006 X type petrol and have just been reading the Friday spotlight about using E10 fuel. You state that Jaguars pre 2011 will need to upgrade the fuel system hoses etc before using E10. Having checked the Gov site, which you kindly supplied, they state that all Jaguar models from the year1992 are cleared to use the E10 fuel. I'm just a bit confused as to whether I can use the E10 or not. Hope you can help me with my confusion. Regards Rob.
Re: E10 fuel
Hi Rob,yes a bit confusing I know.
Your 2006 X-Type will be fine with the new E10 petrol.
2011 is the year from which they say all cars manufactured from are compatible,if you have an earlier car then check on the Gov website:
https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-e10-petrol
Jaguar say all cars after 1992 are ok to use E10.
Renault say 1997 for their cars but they have a few exceptions.
Vauxhall say 2000 for their cars but they have a few exceptions as well.
I shall be using E10 in my 2000 XJ with no worries.
Hope that helps a bit.
Take care and enjoy your X-Type Rob.

Many thanks for your reply Andy. Like you I will have a go and use the E10. Fingers crossed the manufacturers know what they're talking about.
