Saving my X-TYPE

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to say that I've just had my sills replaced - and saved my, otherwise, beautiful Jaguar from the indignity of being lost to the motoring world.
I am lucky to have found a brilliant motor engineer (not just a part changer), who is based less than five miles from home (Fylde coast). The cost of the replacement was £500.00 + Vat - in my humble opinion, a very fair price to save the car.
If anyone would like details of the garage, please ask and I will gladly provide details.
I am one very happy X-TYPE owner...here's to a long and happy relationship.

Thanks for reading...

Simon

Simon,
That is music to my ears! I am so pleased you found the right man and invested in your X-type. My articles in the club mag are attempting to promote the sustainability of these cars and you have demonstrated it can be done for reasonable cost.
Was wax injection of the sill included in his work to ensure they are now better protected than when they left the factory? I would love to include your story in the magazine with maybe a photo or two?
Happy car now!
Dave

Hi simonhales33121,
Very well done Simon.
I for one hope you do a little piece for the magazine.
Look forward to reading about it.
The X-Types are worth saving.
Post a couple of photo's of your car so we can all enjoy her.
Take care and stay safe.
Andy :D

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies - much appreciated...

Dave - I will certainly send you some pictures - can I use your email address, please?

The man who did the work is more than willing to help other Jaguar owners. I am using him for all my vehicular needs - he also looks after my wife's Mini Cooper. He is a proper engineer, well able to cope with mechanical and bodywork repairs/maintenance on any vehicle - he is also an MOT test centre. I will certainly be posting his details on the relevant forum - he is happy for me to do this.

Kind regards

Simon

Hi Simon

If you email it to me on:- xtype@jecmodels.org.uk that will be fantastic. The editor needs photos to be in jpeg format, pretty standard stuff.
Look forward to it.
Thanks
Dave
