Very pleased today - the car went through the MOT with only a headlamp bulb required. Paid £59 for the test and bulb and drove it away - one of the least expensive MOT I've had. Pretty good for a 9 year old car? While it was in the garage I was embarrassed by the driver door problem that had recently developed, they had to have the window down to open the door. When I got home I sprayed some WD40 onto the door latch and now it works like new. I hope to offer up more money saving fixes in the future - next up I have to tackle the headlamp levelling.
