crankshaft oil seal

Postby Roger47 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 11:31 pm

I have just had a service done by a local Jaguar specialist, on my recently aquired 2.2 diesel estate 2006, it has clocked 63000. an advisery says there is a slight oil leak from the crankshaft oil seal, thinking my rather expensive aftermarket warranty would cover that, on checking, I find it doesn't...SO!!!!!
reasonably happy working on a car, would it be possible to change the seal myself, working with jacks and reasonable tool kit, or if consensus is its a garage job, how long would it normally take to do??
thanks..... Roger :?
