renewall of crankshaft, big end and main bearings

I have an x-type 3.0L manual with big
end failure. We are aware that only standard bearings are available, and having removed the engine from the car, we find that the crankshaft big end journals are damaged, and intend to replace crankshaft along with big end and main bearings. However, as the Jaguar workshop manuals I have on CD, do not give any information on engine rebuild, in particular the 'bottom end', we purchased a copy of Haynes manual for the Ford mondeo which listed the ST220 engine. Unfortunately, on removing the outer packaging from this, we are disappointed to find that the only reference to the V6 in the engine overhaul section is to explain that Ford say that the main bearings cannot be renewed and the lower crankcase cannot be re-used once removed.
I understand that the crankshaft is available from Jaguar along with the bearings although we do of course intend to thoroughly examined the rest of the engine before deciding to replace the crank etc. However, any informatiuon anyone can offer on this subject would be much appreciated.
