Postby Brakebuster » Sat Sep 28, 2013 9:53 am

for the grand sum of £45 , i had a new filter and oil change at National Tyres , ( 2.1 V6 petrol )

this include a 10% discount by printing off a voucher

better than getting dirty myself , lol

they also did a vehicle check and pumped up the tyres for me, and let me look round while she was up in the air

all in half an hour

I'm new to diesels but actually liking my experience thus far. Some advice please.

I've been getting a message that says "service required within 1400 miles. I bought the car in April (2.2) and it has had an annual services from new. All but the last one from a Jag main Dealer. I'm guessing this relates to the need for am oil and filter change but will this resolve the issue. Also. Anyone know how to re-set the warning message. All advice warmly received.

Changed the oil and filter and did a re-set. No message and all seems fine.

2.2 Diesel. Does anyone know the correct size of the socket required to undo the plastic oil filter? My socket sizes only reach 32mm and it is just a little bigger. I'm probably looking in all the wrong places.

Many thanks

Nick,

I'm assuming it's been over-tightened when fitting and you can't turn it by hand?

It's a 36mm head on the housing or else just use a 3-legged filter removal tool.

Good luck

Thanks Paul - Three legged tool did the job but it was tight.
