X type estate - 2004 onwards

Postby cross » Wed Nov 12, 2008 8:43 am

I am looking to buy a 2004 onward estate - I have no particular engine preference either in size or petrol/diesel - although I am leaning towards diesel for economy
I know nothing about any of these engines ..... Can anyone advise me particularly on cambelt change frequency , and anything else that you may have learned from ownership
Which engine do you consider is best of all ?
Any information/help will be much appreciated

Well, I'm running a 2005 2.0L diesel estate. It's a good engine. Regular servicing has now seen it exceed 145K...

No rubber belt to worry about, this engine uses proper chains, and I'm getting@ 50 mpg on a run.

Took it out today (Mrs Tel has had it for the past week) and the needle still hasn't moved off the full mark. No, she hasn't topped it up since I did....
Never does

In addition to my last reply, you may want to look at this thread before rushing out and buying any Ford engined Jaguar....
