Consumption ?

I noticed in the latest Jaguar magazine there is a letter regarding the fuel consumption of an X type diesel. It's a good, well written, interesting letter with quite a lot of details re. driving methods etc..
I also run an X type 2.2 diesel and what a really good vehicle it is too, I use it most days for one thing or another ( mixed journeys ) and I also tow my caravan with it, ( I try to travel as light as I can ). In my every day use I comfortably get around 48 mpg. On a recent longish, easy straight forward run the car returned 52 mpg, and even when towing, depending on the types of roads can get 42/44. I look after it and do most of my own servicing etc.. I make sure everything is as free running as possible and I currently run on low running resistant tyres.
I also find that by using the better, albeit more expensive premium diesel fuel it does make a difference all round.
