The man with the golden jag

Thought I'd say hello. I'm a new member with a tasteful gold x type estate and an even more snazzy brown Daimler 250 v8.
The Jag was a recent purchase as the family runaround and is already forging a bittersweet relationship with its owners. While its a fantastic drivers car with plenty of poke, the bills are already starting to rack up. To be honest, I should of spent more time viewing it before buying, but it looked very straight and tidy with only 60k on the clock. So far I've had to have a lot of suspension parts replaced along with a new wheel bearing. The tracking was out. I got a crack in the screen within a week. The parking sensors packed up (easy fix thankfully). The alternator has recently started being quite vocal and sounds like a flock of birds, and to cap things off I've been advised to invest in professional undersealing before tin worm takes hold (it's starting to look fairly crusty in places underneath) - I never thought I'd have to do that with a 10 year old car in this day and age, and its predecessor was a 15 year old RUST free Alfa Romeo! And here's me thinking Italian motors had a far worse reputation for rot!
Oh well, it's a lovely motor which I intend to keep for several years, so ill have to try and keep on top of these things. The forum looks good at least, so I look forward to picking all your brains with x type related issues. Cheers,Phil
