X-Type 2.2d Sport Premium Estate

Hello all.
I wont go into too much detail but back in June last year my brother passed away from cancer.
We had decided that I was to take over custody of his car after he had gone and that is how I have come to own a
2007 X-Type 2.2d Sport Premium Estate in the colour of Liquid Silver with 123000 miles under it's belt.
It is the first diesel powered vehicle that I have owned and apart from the different noise from the engine I am getting to like it now.
I use it to commute to and from work so it gets used most days.
I gave it an engine service at the begining of August, all new filters and fresh engine oil ready for the MOT that was coming up in September.

One thing I did not like was the 18" wheels that was on the car.
They gave a very harsh ride which I am not used to.

18" Wheels
Just by chance and bit a of luck I think,I came across a set of 16" S-Type "Spirit" alloy wheels with new Continental tyres for £90.00.Advertised on the Facebook Market Place page in my area.
I had to use wheel spacers to gain enough clearance on full lock and the wheels have given the car a much softer ride.
I don't think they look too bad either.

16" Wheels
I have kept the 18" wheels just in case I would like to change back to them in the future.
Overall condition of the car is pretty good but there are some things I have noticed that will need looking at in the future.I have a small dent in the front bumper which you can see in the MOT photo.I am hoping that will pop out once pushed from behind and the usual removal of corrosion from underneath followed by some rust prevention work.
Went through the MOT ok but had a couple of advisories:
One to do with service brake binding and fluctuating.
The second is the offside rear wheel bearing, noisy and had some play.
So not too bad and could have been much worse :)
I have done the rear wheel bearing now so I will report on that in the X-Type Suspension Sub-Forum :D .
So that is how I've come to own a Jaguar X-Type.
Hopefully it will be a pleasant experience :D
Take care and safe driving.
Andy :D

Great to see another X-type in safe hands.
Hope it proves to be a good stablemate to the XJ, so useful with the estate body.
