Four 'Twenty-Spoke-Alloys'

Postby PeterDavisX300 » Mon Jan 25, 2016 3:33 pm

I currently run my 1995 X300 on a set of re-furbished (Powder-coated) Ten-Spoke 'Starburst' wheels. These I got from a scrapped X308. When I got my X300 it had Twenty-Spoke 'Turbine' (I think that is the common name) wheels on it, also really the wrong wheels from an X308. I have just this past weekend managed to get a hold of a set of 'Kiwi' style alloys, that are fully re-furbished. (The correct wheels for my X300)

So, the Twenty-Spoke 'Turbines' are up for grabs. Free to a good home, just pay the postage or come collect. My work-place postcode is IV30 6DJ Moray College Technology Centre, Elgin. I use 'Parcel-to-go', or 'Hermes'. They'll charge about £14 a wheel for carriage. None of the wheels have tyres on them, they are all in fair condition with no major lumps or chips out of them, they all had good tyres on them that remained sealed whilst on the car. I don't need them or want them now, there just taking up space and if no-one takes them will go down the dump sometime soon. It was my intention to get them powder-coated, and I was reliably informed they would take that easily, and look real good.

Peter,

There are 4 types of 20-spoke wheels that were option wheels on x300s. Some are painted, some are diamond-cut, some are 7J and some are 8J. "Turbines" (not 20-spokes) are a different wheel again that was also an x300 option.

Do you know which type you have? Is there any chance that you could post a pic here? There is one particular type where I would like a couple of spare slave wheels.

Cheers

Peter,

Tks. Those are the 20-spoke, Painted, Covered Wheel Nut wheels. Can't see if they are 7J or 8J (marking is on inside of wheel). Not the ones I'm looking for but Tks anyway.

Hi Paul

I'm fairly sure they're 8J. They aren't listed in my original handbook, it's a different 20 spoke wheel. However the 'Dimple' and 'Kiwi' are listed in my handbook, and it was 'Kiwi' I managed to get. I've got the wheel-nut covers too, but missing the plastic centres because a mate wanted them for his Jaguar, they are red and matched his boot-badges on his XJ12.

One has gone for a full-size spare. So now only three. If anyone wants a full-size spare, for the price of sending, It's yours. It'll take me a good few days to organise sending because it's a busy time of year work-wise.

I found another wheel, so that did make four, however, they are no-longer available because they went to the local dump this morning.
