Interior and exterior door trims.

I wonder if anyone can help. I've looked for a nice pair of front Walnut wood trims for my X300, the XJ40 don't interchange although they look like they do! (I've tried) The trims need to have the 'glued-on-clips' on the back, NOT the screw-on metal ones. They would need to be in great condition, mine are cracked, and so are most on-line. I had a set lined-up from a Daimler Century, but the nice lady that posted them to me didn't pack them well-enough and 'Parcelforce' played Hockey with them! You can see in the pic of mine how poor mine are. Also I need all-doors, the chrome-trim on the outside that sits against the outside of the window with the rubber that skims the window surface. Again, this needs to be in great condition with no Ali'-corrosion between the rubber and chrome. A long shot I know, but both items no-longer supplied by the dealers.

I don't know if you have Burr Walnut or Figured Walnut? And I think your car is a SWB? Anyway, the one type that is still in stock at Jaguar is the front and rear kit for a SWB with Burr Walnut. Don't know if that helps you?

Thanks for the quick reply. I went to a local-ish Jaguar dealer and gave them the Registration Number of my car, they just said it was no-longer available. Yes the car is SWB but I only need the front Walnut, although need all-four chrome trims. Again by the same dealer, trims are no-longer available. I was hoping for a matching set of interior Walnut, and found a set, but it was ruined in the post. I figured that one couldn't sit in the front and back of a car at the same time, so I would accept slightly different wood pattern!

I guess that means that you have Figured Walnut. I don't know if Burr Walnut on the doors would look completely at odds. Maybe ring Jaguar Heritage Parts and ask them if they could take a photo of a door veneer and send it to you? The part number for Burr Walnut without inlay for a SWB is JLM12289. Alternatively, you could ring Paul Banham at Myrtle Productions and ask him what he could do for you.
