Stainless Sports Exhaust

I'm looking to get a new exhaust for my 1997 3.2 sport manual, and there don't seem to be any options available, so I wondered whether anyone had any experience/information for me? I'm looking to keep the quiet nature of the car while cruising, but for a proper sound while pressing on, s a "noisy exhaust" is completely out of the question, although I'm sure no-one could recommend that!

Double S supply a system for £699. Poweflow (Silchester Garage) will supply and fit for £650...CAT back.
Removing one of the silencers each side should give a bit of bark when required, but still relaxed cruising.
The Cats are pretty effective silencers so losin a box shouldnt be an issue.

there are plenty of companies out there offering custom stainless exhaust, built to order.
i would do a google search and see what is in your area, or somewhere you are prepared to travel to. I had one done on another car, and its usually a while you wait service.
i used this place that has franchises all over the country.

you can ask them to match the OE noise level or increase it.

I`m into sports exhausts. I have a Milltek cats back resonatorless system on my S-type V8 fitted about seven years ago. Massive construction, great sound and no problems at all. This was fitted by Paramount Performance at Slough.

I note you are in Newbury. Local to you are Racing Green Cars, Tom Lenthal and also Profusion Customs at Colnbrook near Heathrow. All these guys fit sports exhausts. Profusion will make up a custom system for you.

Those outside the car get the best sound track. It is less tuneful within the car and does change the character of a car. Sometimes that is good at other times you can crave a quieter system. A system with resonators helps with that slight issue.
