Not such a cool XJ40

Hello all,

I have a minor leak coming from the radiator of my 1993 XJ40 3.2 Sport. I'd like to do a proper, long-term fix, which has become somewhat of a saga to achieve and I wondered if you may be able to help?

The car is fitted with the a radiator that uses 'push-fit' connections for the transmission and power steering pipes. Research suggests that it is part number CCC5476. It has long since been discontinued but has been superseded by the X300 radiator MNA4190DB, which is readily available but, alas, does not use the push-fit connectors.

Further research has shown that a hose kit adapter (JLM11670) was available to allow the push-fit pipes to work with the X300 radiator but this too has been discontinued. This has left me stuck.

I have considered retro-fitting X300 transmission and power steering pipes to the Xj40 to get around this problem. Having sourced X300 3.2 pipes, they are really quite different, particularly the transmission pipes. It appears unworkable. I have also looked into having the old radiator refurbished but no one will touch an aluminium radiator with plastic end tanks.

All this is leaving me with little other than the Heath Robinson option of fitting an X300 radiator with a assemblance of bodged hoses and jubilee clips, unless any of my fellow JECers can suggest a better solution?
