Replacement Wheel Arch

I have just replaced my second Wheel-Arch. Not an easy task, a lot of work if it's done properly. Done at a mates house outside in North Scotland! We are both Jaguar enthusiasts, he has more modern Jaguars, I have the older type! Steve is a perfectionist, as you may perhaps see, the finished colour is obviously different, but it's much better than rust, and I'll blow the car over next Easter when I know the rust is gone. I'm just going to put the pics up in order I hope, starting with the original rusty wing, through to the finished product, took about 2 weeks of part-time work.

The pics maybe out of order. But it starts off with many rusty bits that have been already patched before and by me. Then the look at the wheel arch lip inside the boot was suffering as well with rusty water running into the area. I cut out all the bad stuff including under the lip. Marked it out with masking tape to get a 'cutting-Pattern'. looked at the new wheel arch for cutting the section out. Notice the difference in profile that needed to be re-profiled on the replacement wheel-arch.then the new panel taped in for comparison. Initial welding, then ground-out, and final look. So long as there isn't rust, I'm happy, then later this year, or Easter next year when I've proved the rust is staying away, I'll blow the side of the car over and put in a new coach line.
