Advice required re Sills and floor panels?

Since this car was off the road, raised up on axle stands and going nowhere soon I decided to call in a mobile welder. I cut out the bad metal and ground back. This is not a rare/valuable x300 and so is going to be a daily driver. You only live once so why not pamper yourself and drive a nice car? Even with two broken front springs, holes in the floor and upper front shock bushes gone she drove like a dream to me such are these cars. I had paid too much for this car with an obviously dodgy MOT so it was plated up for me. Here are a few pics below to show the work. I have left a little welding job on a rear sill end which could not be accessed in any case at the time due to ramps but which I want to have a go at myself to dip my toes.

Re the front corners, this is what people mean when they say mud splash builds up behind the wheels and rots away. Buyer beware!

Great progress Tim. nice to see solid metal where daylight used to be.
By the time the carpets are back down and the welded underside is undersealed/ painted, no one will ever see these repairs again, except your trusted MOT inspector. Jobs a good-un i say.

Thanks Naki. The carpet and seats are all back in now and the underside has had Hydrate 80 applied as a precaution where there was surface rust and the whole lot then POR top coat then four coats of Gravitex stonechip over the top of that! Here is a pic of the underside.

In hindsight lifting the carpets at the edges would have been enough for the welding but I was worried about sparks etc. It was good to see how it all comes out though but it's slowed me down a lot. The expression 'bull at a gate' comes to mind lol. The one problem is that even despite the warnings I still broke one of the plastic escutcheons on the back of the seat so that's on the to-do list but way down the bottom!!

Fantastic job. Its really looking like a professional restoration now. Baby steps forward, but real progress. And think how much you have learned along the way.
