removed the rear bumper , guess what i found........

well, that was easy , the two bolts came out without a single issue , though i did use the half inch battery ratchet gun , but as the bolts had been copper greased earlier in their life, they span out with zero resistance,

the reason for removing the bumper is that it has had a little nerf and bent the chrome, and bent the bumper beam ( more of a crinkle than a bend )

so i got my hands on a new alloy bumper beam , and need to swap all the components onto it along with a replacement top bumper chrome

so , back to what i found, well, nothing, its as good under the bumper as the day she rolled off the production line, zero corrosion ,

the guide blocks are intact, and the brackets are solid with minimal surface corrosion which is easily treated before i put it all back together

so , time to swap it all over and refit it, i will spray some waxoyle around the mounts etc when i have given them a slight cleanup

BB,

Good work as always. As with the XJS bumpers, remember to polish back any chrome pitting on the back of the bumper chromes and wax them thoroughly before refitting them. Most of those chromes rot from the back out, as you know.

Cheers
