Heated Windscreen x300 Sovereign

Was a heated windscreen standard fitment on 1996 x300 Sovereign, any one tell me as mine has windscreen out and there are two wires each side behind the trim, the windscreen that was removed was not heated. there is a switch for heated screen on the dash.

don't know about ' standard . but i think it was an option

if installing a new screen , and its heated, you will only need a pair of relays , and the dash console over the stereo with the heated screen button option , it will be next to the rear screen heater switch , and from memory they made two switches fit in the space the single rear screen switch takes


Ford owned the copyright to heated front windscreens screens, and as they owned Jaguar back then it was fitted into Jaguar cars

i think Sovereign spec should have had it as standard? its possibly been replaced before with a standard screen. if the button is there it should have had it from the factor, I reckon.
the switch pack was available with or without the heated screen switch, so stands to reason.

i had a sovereign , without heated windscreen , and it still was an option right up to year 2001 , when they started fitting all the stock left over that wouldn't fit the new aluminium cars........
