ABS SENSORS

I'm try to get my 1990 XJ40 4.0l Sovereign back on the road again, really miss it.
Need to sort out the ABS, warning light in instrument cluster stays on.
Can anyone tell me how to test the ABS sensors, i have a simple multimeter that I can use if needs be.

all suggestions appreciated
