Re: diffs
be aware the ratios are different from X300 to X308 and also per engine size. see list below
from what i have read, it is possible to fit one, but its not a straight swap. some mods needed.

personally, i would try and source the correct one, and have done with it.

Re: diffs
Talking of diffs - had a nice trip back from the AJ6/AJ16 Seminar on Saturday.
Forty miles from home, doing 70 (ish) in the fast lane of the M6 and felt a 'hiccup' in the drive chain (so to speak) and a nasty vibration ensued!!
Slowed it down to 50 and it was bearable - dilemma was shall I pull over and call the nice AA man (and wait for how long) or risk nursing the car home?
I decided to nurse it home and investigate the next day.
Turns out the pinion shaft bearing had destroyed itself - you could move the shaft up & down a 1/4 inch!! Also noticed the rubber doughnut was starting to split, so if it happens again, I don't think I will risk driving it!!!
Took me all of Sunday to remove the axle assembly from the green one and the 3.2 sport (yes, I know it's a different ratio, but needs must as it's my daily driver.
Finished putting it all back together today (5 hours) - knackered but well chuffed. Mobile again!

Re: diffs
Feeling it now Rob!
Started removing the knackered one at 9am - out by 4pm (a couple of coffee breaks and sunday dinner squeezed in).
The refreshed one that I had put into the Sport only took 2 hours to remove because everything was copper slipped on replacement (and it was still on axle stands and no exhaust pipes to remove).
It also helps to have a sturdy 4 wheeled trolley to put the whole assembly on. The one I use, I can get a small trolley jack underneath it and lift the whole lot into place (yes, you still have to juggle it about to get it finally into place).
At least the weather stayed nice.
