Engine oil consumption

Hi

Just wondering what people's experiences are of X300 oil consumption... My X300 XJR is smoking noticeably under acceleration. The car's done 110Kmiles and has 10W/40 oil in it. This is in stark contrast to my 4.0l XJ40. Does anyone have any 4.0l oil consumption experiences to share, be they supercharged or not...?

Mines not a 4.0l but the 3.2 so may not be what your asking... mine has now just covered 96000 mls and it doesn't smoke that I am aware of and doesn't seem to use any oil at all in between changes...

XJR's will use a little oil from experience, but it should not be visible on acceleration, I have the opposite, blue smoke on the over run!!
