Having problems with XJR supercharged 1995
It will not tick over on idle and has a slight misfire
Any direction I need to go in
Will not run on idle

Hi William and welcome to the JEC Forums.
I think you need to go in the direction of the XJ40/X300 section which is for XJ models 1986/1997.
Perhaps a moderator could move this post there.
Don't have much knowledge regarding the straight 6 engine but you could try looking at the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS).
Could also try cleaning the throttle body and MAF.
Ideally plug a OBD code reader in and see if you have any fault codes logged.
Hope you get it sorted.
Take care.
Andy

Re: Will not run on idle
What do you mean with not tick over?
Is it to fast, or does it stall?
The vast majority of time changing the crank position sensor with the plugs and coils is the best start.

Re: Will not run on idle
Also check the spark plug wells which can fill with oil and cause misfire and idling problems.
And carefully check the integrity of the individual coil packs wiring which can become brittle and deteriorate.
Good luck
