Tensioner Noise

Postby PeterDavisX300 » Mon May 15, 2017 8:32 pm

Hello.
My X300 has for a wee while made the short rumble when starting from 'semi-warm' due to the usual tensioner wear. I notice that most of the parts are no-longer available from JLR, is there a fix? I guess it must be something to do with the 'O'-rings or the non-return-valve. Is there anyone with a new one out there? The blades all looked in good-enough condition when I had the head off. I've done all the usual re-sets etc of the tensioner.

Any comments welcome.

I would say its worth trying a new O-Ring on the upper tensioner since they are pence (assuming you do the work yourself).

I have used tensioners if you need one. PM me for details.

Thanks for the reply Naki. I was going to replace what I could on the existing tensioner to see if that would stop the rumble. Aye, I do all my own work.

Thanks.
