Crank sensor and throttle body gasket

Good Morning All,
Is the sun shining where you are?
I have had a recent problem with intermittent cutting out at low revs - usually whilst stationary.
Having compiled a list of the usual suspects, interestingly this weekend I disconnected the crank sensor to check for corrosion in the connections and found them clean. Having reassembled, on the next journey it cut out six times!
Therefore I am looking for a crank sensor which in itself appears to be a minefield. Having ascertained that the top price (ie Jaguar price) is £107 approx., alternative prices, new, vary from £30 (SNG Barratt) upwards. Has anyone any experience / problems purchasing one of these - ie does the £30 option perform as well as a £107 item? One eBay item (about £60) is described as a 'genuine Lucas sensor', did Lucas manufacture this for Jaguar?
In addition I am looking at cleaning out the throttle body but can't seem to locate a gasket - can anyone point me in the right direction please?

When I removed the throttle body on my 4 litre AJ 16 I found that no gasket was fitted - simply a clean alloy to alloy joint. Didn't like the idea of no seal at all so on re-assembly I used a thin smear of silicone gasket. If a gasket is fitted to yours and you want to renew it you could always make one with gasket paper (see You tube tutorial).

Can't help with the sensor problem though I'm afraid.

That's probably why I can't find one for sale!
I was just assuming by what I had read and previous experience of other cars and the fact that there is one available for the XJ8 that there would be one.
However I shall proceed on the basis that there isn't one.

Let me know if you find one is fitted to yours - it will mean someone failed to refit mine after an earlier dismantling!

I have bought second-hand sensors in the past, and they can be as fickle as the faulty one you're taking out. I purchased a new Lucas one about a year ago (10,000 miles) and it's still good so-far. I bought another spare just recently that sits in my 'clean' toolbox in the boot, it was listed on Ebay as an 'intermotor' make, and when it turned-up it was a Lucas as well. I paid about £50 for each.

I had my doubts about 2nd hand reliability, obviously well founded.

With regard to Robbie's last message, I think that I have managed to clean the throttle body and butterfly valve in situ, having now had a closer look, there doesn't appear to me to be a gasket for the throttle body on mine either.
One contributor to another Jaguar forum confirmed that there was no gasket fitted on the X300.
