My '95 xjr has a driver's seat back that won't stay upright. When the car is left for any time, even with the battery disconnected, when I get to it the seat is almost fully reclined. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

Forgive my naivety but I'm new to Jaguar ownership, as the seat moves up and forward on its own I must assume it is a memory seat. But I might be wrong.

ok, it may be a fault in the memory ECU under the drivers seat, best bet is to find a known to be good one and swap it out, OR have the car scanned on Jaguar IDS or a good Autologic scanner with the Jaguar upgrades, 300 is quite a complex car and runs BD diagnostics, the correct scanner will give you the fault, a hand help cheapo one will not

where in the country are you, perhaps I can point you in the direction of a good specialist

Thank you for the information at least now I have something to look for, I was totally stumped before. I know what you mean about the 300 being a complex car. I've printed out the wiring diagram for it (all 180 pages) and despite being a qualified electrician it scared me rigid!

I live in Great Barr in the north of Birmingham.
